Abel Nightroad has been many things in his long life: a weapon, a fighter, a demon, a guardian angel, and currently, a priest for the Vatican. The one thing that many of his allies know is that he is a Crusnik - a vampire's vampire - and someone they can depend on during a fight. What none of them know is that there is another side to Father Abel Nightroad of the Department of Foreign Affairs.

The Incubus Side.

No one knows about this because he does everything in his power to keep that part of him from ever emerging. His sister-by-adoption, Seth Nightlord, keeps telling him that it isn't healthy for him to do so, and one day, those powers are going to emerge uncontrollably. Abel has learned to value life since Armageddon, and even though his Crusnik side desires blood and occasionally death, he works hard to keep those instincts under control as well.

He is not without his sense of humor however, and he finds it amusing to know that there are two Trinities of Blood in his life. The first is made up of His Holiness, Pope Alessandro XVIII, his half brother, Cardinal Francesco diMedici of the Inquisition, and their mutual half sister, Cardinal Catarina Sforza of the Department of Foriegn Affairs. The second involves Abel himsef, his twin brother Cain Knightlord, and his sister, Seth Nightlord. They were the three remaining Crusniks after Cain had murdered Lillith Stahl in some misguided attempt to "free" Abel from her "spell".

((Okay this Abel is different from the one in the series as he was created by humans to be a weapon during Armageddon, and they decided to mix some Incubus/Succubus into the mix to make the Crusniks all very attractive... only they didn't know what they got when the did that. SO have fun!))
